Cultivating Workplace Wellness: Thinking Outside of the Box to Increase Employee Health and HappinessJoin on Hopin
Health and immunity are top of mind for everyone right now. But how does that play out for companies? How can startups help ensure the health of employees in a time of heightened worry and anxiety?
In this session, Morgan Simon, Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, will be walking through specific ways startups can ensure a healthy workplace (hint: oversanitization is not the answer), support employee health, and implement wellness policies that actually work. We'll be going beyond the basics and discussing what holistic health actually means and how startups can leverage the resources available today to foster the healthiest (and most productive) teams, whether in office or virtually.
Kylie Everhart, Texas sales director for Friday Health Plans, will give an overview of the new health insurance options available to individuals and businesses in Texas to make it more affordable and flexible. We’ll then take your real-world situations and offer solutions for everyone to learn from. Submit your questions, challenges and scenarios prior to the session for useful insights on health insurance options that may save you money and make your employees happy.
How can you take care of your team members and yourself when you are not able to connect in person? How do you safely discuss emotional content within an online structure? Navigating emotionally intense conversations in an online space can be difficult. Join entrepreneur Anna Westbrook and her colleagues across various industries in this short presentation and facilitated discussion on creating a safe space within an online environment.
Anna Westbrook is the creator of Isabel & The Runaway Train, a musical theatre and professional development company that teaches people to support survivors of sexual maltreatment. In 2020, Anna successfully pivoted the Isabel training programs to be entirely virtual by pivoting around her unique brand and using that brand to re-frame her understanding of mental health and community engagement.
During the subsequent facilitated panel discussion, you'll hear from: Junice Rockman, Neuropsychotherapist & Journalist; Andrew Shearer, Founder and Principal of the technology recruitment company BravePath, and Natalie Khoo, Director of the global copywriting agency Avion Communications. You'll also be able to provide your own insight into how your team is managing tough conversations and learn from the shared experiences of professionals across various industries in the start up community.
As we navigate COVID-19, isolated from co-workers, friends and family, it's important to find new ways to work and interact. This session will provide some tools and tips to take care of our mental health and well-being and maintain relationships while working from home and home schooling kids.
