Jonathan Reid Gealt was born in Glens Falls Hospital and grew up in the small upstate town of Queensbury, New York. He attended the Boston Conservatory and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater Performance, having a dual emphasis in both dance and composition.
Jonathan, a member of the advanced BMI Theater Writing Workshops, is currently adapting Lyndsay Faye’s novel Dust and Shadow, as well as continued work on two other musicals and two original screenplays.
Jonathan, celebrated the worldwide release of his 4th studio album on December 3rd, 2021. Produced and helmed by Stephen Oremus, the album boast an incredible lineup of vocalists, including MaKenzie Thomas, Amber Iman, Daniel J. Watts, Brooke Simpson, Kim Cruse, Anilee List, Lilli Cooper, David Simmons Jr., Sophia James, India Carney, Ashley Jayy, Marino Jose, Sasha Allen, and Jonathan Reid Gealt. 25% of the entire album is being donated to the NAACP for use wherever they need it most.
Jonathan’s third studio album, “Whatever I Want It To Be,” was released on November 29th, 2015. The album features internationally acclaimed Grammy and TONY nominated vocalists including Jane Monheit, Laura Osnes, Joshua Henry, Alex Brightman, Loren Allred, Luke Edgemon, Craig Colton, Caissie Levy, Lindsay Mendez, Lilli Cooper, Natalie Weiss, Alysha Umphress, Michael Deleget, Celisse Henderson, Addi McDaniel, Whitney Bashor, James Bilodeau, and Jonathan Reid Gealt.
Jonathan’s second album “Here For You – Ballads for Broadway Impact” was released worldwide on April 30th, 2013 and a portion of all sales go to benefit Broadway Impact. Produced by Jonathan, James Bilodeau, Brian Parker and Matt Hinkley, the album boasts the vocal talents of Kelli O'Hara, Jeremy Jordan, Loren Allred, Caissie Levy, Adrienne Warren, Katie Thompson, Jason Gotay, Natalie Weiss, Rachel Potter, and Jonathan Reid Gealt.
Jonathan’s debut album ‘Thirteen Stories Down’ was released in 2011 on Sh-k-Boom/Ghostlight Records. Produced by 7-time grammy award winner Joel Moss, the album features orchestrations by Lynne Shankel, Bruce Coughlin, and August Eriksmoen as well as the vocal talents of TONY, Grammy and Emmy nominees including Kate Baldwin, Will Chase, Tituss Burgess, Lauren Kennedy, Caissie Levy, Matt Doyle, Darius de Haas, Carrie Manolakos, Natalie Weiss, Zak Resnick, Quentin Earl Darrington, Adam Chanler-Berat, Lindsay Mendez, Capathia Jenkins, and the Broadway Inspirational Voices.
Jonathan’s music has been featured in sold-out venues and concerts all over New York City including the Broadway in South Africa Benefits, Symphony Space, The Canal Room, Joe’s Pub, The Triad, The Laurie Beechman, The Lucille Lortel, Le Poisson Rouge, and Birdland. Outside New York City, his music has been sung around the world including: Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Manila, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Scotland, France, Spain, Germany, Canada, and England.
A performer as well as a composer, select theater credits include “The Secret Garden” (Hammerstein Ballroom, NYC), “Rags” (NOKIA Theater, NYC), “Les Miserables” (Tour), St. Louis MUNY, Atlanta Theater of the Stars, Kansas City Starlight, The Wolf Trap, “Junie B. Jones” (Tour), and “Thrill Me” (New England Premiere). FILM/TV “Across The Universe” and “Kidnapped.” Jonathan also appeared as a soloist with the Boston Pops under the baton of Keith Lockhart.
Born and raised in Singapore, Cheeyang Ng is an award-winning singer-songwriter who writes at the intersection of queer, Asian and immigrant stories. They have performed around the world, including Lincoln Center with Carole King and Carnegie Hall with a cappella group Vocalosity and hold an MFA from New York University and a BMus from Berklee College of Music.
They are the first Singaporean to headline a concert at Joe's Pub and Millennium Stage at Kennedy Center showcasing their original music and their songs have been performed around New York, including The Duplex and Feinstein's/54 Below.
Creator of podcast East Side Story and vocal group The Lunar Collective, they have won multiple vocal awards all across Asia, including Singapore, Taiwan, and China. Musicals in development include EASTBOUND (2020 NAMT, Village Theatre Festival of New Musicals, NYTB IMPACT Award) with Khiyon Hursey, MĀYĀ (2021 NAMT, Live & In Color, Hypokrit), and ONLY US (Drama League Residency) with Eric Sorrels.
