Amy Segreti
Relational Experience Designer

Amy Segreti got her start by writing immersive nonfiction as a print journalist, editor-in-chief and publisher. She has written/edited for The Baltimore Sun, The Washington Post, The Globe, Huffington Post, Thought Catalog, and many more before publishing her own magazine called Twine in 2013, longform narrative journalism on intertwining play and purpose in our lives.

Diving more deeply into embodiment incited her to study embodied women’s sexuality, coming away as a certified Women’s Holistic Somatic Sex Educator & Practitioner. She has studied twice in-person with Esther Perel at her clinical trainings in NYC.

Her professional immersive work often consists of small-scale, consent-aware encounters that cannot be written about on the Internet. Public productions have included Revere: Nights, an immersive event that weaved together reclaiming the cultural narratives of the strip club and remembering ancestral practices through embodying and accepting our sexuality. Five sold-out events ran between 2016-2018 in Boulder, capturing the Dirty and the Divine through facilitation, dance, movement and connection.

Amy has studied creation, mapping and narrative arcs of experience design with Odyssey Works, a theater company that specializes in productions for an audience of one. She is a writer for No Proscenium, the most well-known website for reviewing immersive art, theater and experiences in the country.

She has given a TEDx talk (now on TED.com) on experience design as a tool to amplify meaning and connection in our personal relationships."

A happy hour of experience design and conversation, with a live cocktail-making segment!

Join me for a drink in this brave and uncertain time as we explore ways that we as solo entrepreneurs can invite and create connective experiences from afar.

After a short cocktail-making lesson (first 10 mins; optional but highly encouraged), we’ll explore some methodologies of relational experience design and how to utilize them to build connections that persist (and maybe even grow) through unsteady times.

This workshop will teach you how to use interviewing, state-shifting, and a dose of the mystical to design nuanced experiences for yourself and others.

We’ll keep high regard for everyone’s individual risk profile and tolerance, but also be willing to try on new lenses of the possibility that can facilitate growth and connection.

You’ll learn:

* what abductive design is and how to create it

* interviewing to get to the heart of desire and longing
* how to use experience design to deepen relationships in the current times

This workshop will be led by Amy Segreti.
Watch Amy speak (originally on the TEDx stage, now on TED.com) about experience design as a tool for enlivening connection: https://www.ted.com/talks/amy_segreti_the_power_of_pronoia_how_to_design_for_meaning

Ingredients you'll need for the (optional) cocktail segment:

- decaf cold brew concentrate (or regular, if you're okay with caffeine in the evening)
- Campari (or Contratto Bitter)
- red vermouth
- orange peel (optional)

Or, bring your own ingredients and make something else together with us!
