Talk Smart - Messaging the Right Way to the Right Audience
The modern attention span is shrinking. When you have the opportunity to talk about your brand to a new audience there is very little leeway when it comes to clear, concise communication. You need to be prepared to reach the right people with the right verbiage to capture their attention and imagination immediately. In this workshop, we’ll walk through a hands-on messaging exercise to determine how you should position a new brand to each of your core audiences.

Getting Back to Work Post Covid-19
Brian and his team have been in close contact with businesses on what they’d like to see from service providers and young companies moving forward. The insights they’ve gathered are valuable tools you can use to get your employees and contractors back to work. Brian will discuss the five points customers are most concerned about, the attitudes you should exhibit, and the products that will succeed as the world emerges from lockdown.
Brian Baker is the managing partner at Rebel, a Product Strategy and Design company. Rebel has been following a human-centered (design thinking) protocol for twenty years, and their work is seen by more than 90% of Americans every day in digital (software, web, apps), consumer electronics (mobile, smart home, AV) and automotive products. Mr. Baker is an active thought leader in consumer tech and user experience and has been awarded both ‘Inventor of the Year’ in Colorado and ‘Best in Show’ at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
(This session will be 30 minutes followed by 15 minutes of live Q&A)
Cohesive Marketing: The strategy behind the best startup marketing
We'll discuss the methodology of Cohesive Marketing, which uses a streamlined process to transform the way companies build and implement their marketing. This methodology includes aspects from business goals, branding, segmentation, messaging, software tools and of course marketing plans. We'll then dive in to help you develop key aspects of your marketing foundation as well as guidelines to implement them, whether you're in the early stages or growth stages of your startup journey.
Marketing and Sales: Friends or Foes?
Marketing and Sales. Communicate with customers and close deals, easy right? If only. Marketers and salespeople are often pitted against each other, pursuing competing goals and wondering what the other spends all day doing.
In this interactive team talk, we will use a Prisoner’s Dilemma-style game to show attendees/participants why it’s in the best interests of marketers and salespeople to work together. We will also explore the natural differences that cause them to move in opposing directions. This talk will include best practices in each of these disciplines and case studies to learn from.
Digital Behavior Change for Social Impact
Many of the world's most challenging problems require behavior change.
- Climate change would be less of a problem if people recycled, reduced their carbon footprint, and ate less meat.
- People would experience better health outcomes if they took the medicines their doctors prescribe with the regularity prescribed.
- People would have better retirements if they engaged in more effective savings behaviors during their career
Behavioral science and technology provide crucial tools to change counterproductive behavior on a massive scale to address the world's biggest problems. Attend this event by Action Design Denver (https://www.meetup.com/meetup-group-CYyilEwt/events/270456015/) to learn how to make your impact through digital behavior change.

The password to join: bsw
A happy hour of experience design and conversation, with a live cocktail-making segment!
Join me for a drink in this brave and uncertain time as we explore ways that we as solo entrepreneurs can invite and create connective experiences from afar.
After a short cocktail-making lesson (first 10 mins; optional but highly encouraged), we’ll explore some methodologies of relational experience design and how to utilize them to build connections that persist (and maybe even grow) through unsteady times.
This workshop will teach you how to use interviewing, state-shifting, and a dose of the mystical to design nuanced experiences for yourself and others.

* interviewing to get to the heart of desire and longing
* how to use experience design to deepen relationships in the current times
This workshop will be led by Amy Segreti.
