You’ve created your research plan, identified a participant persona, and found transportation & lodging. You’re ready. And then… your budget request is denied. Or, worse, you’re pulled onto another “urgent” project. Your company doesn’t value UX research as it should, and you’re left wondering what went wrong.
Join us as Ryan Kelly (Director, Product Design at UiPath) shares key lessons learned from his 10+ years of selling UX research internally and externally. We’ll cover handling objections, securing budget, and demonstrating research value for repeat buy-in.
Join members of the Boulder UX Research Meetup as they share their experiences working on pro bono projects that were designed to "give back" to organizations or nonprofits who aim to do good for our communities. Since 2019, the Meetup's members have collectively donated approximately $30,000 in time, effort and talent in providing concrete UXR that set partners up for changing and improving their user experiences. This year's partner organizations included Energize Colorado, Colorado Gives, Colorado Uplift, the Colorado Mountain Bike League, and LivedX. Hear our members' main takeaways, including the sheer power of pro bono work: building portfolio pieces for new UXRs, keeping skills fresh for more experienced members, providing ongoing networking opportunities, and truly working towards better user experiences across our communities.

In this talk, veteran UXR and career coach Toni Rosati will highlight 5 rarely-seen portfolio elements that newbies really need to break into UX.
It is critical for all businesses to think about digital accessibility early and often. Why? Because making accessible user experiences for all users, including users with disabilities or people who use assistive technology, improves your product or service for everyone. In fact, companies that don’t invest in accessible experiences can face potentially expensive legal consequences. When you proactively design fully accessible products, services, and experiences that conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1 AA), you ensure digitally inclusive experiences that work for all people and can rest easy knowing you’re not at risk for a lawsuit. Join us for chats with experts for hot tips on how small businesses and entrepreneurs can be mindful of accessibility from the start.
