Laura Hand
Laura Loo Experience Design, CEO and Founder

Laura Hand is the CEO and Founder of Laura Loo Experience Design (LLXD). LLXD helps cannabis brands execute their vision by crafting a delightful brand strategy for every touchpoint of the customer journey to provide the experience their customers want and deserve. 

Laura’s background consists of starting her career as a UX web designer. Her 13-year tenure that culminated to the creative director role saw significant growth for the company, which specializes in digital strategy for financial institutions and health care businesses. In 2016, Laura was promoted to VP of Marketing for the parent company, a healthcare membership organization. Along with her marketing team, she oversaw brand and marketing strategy for 25 internal companies that served 17,000+ healthcare providers across North America. 

In 2019 she left the corporate world to realign her focus to the cannabis industry to honor her family. The loss of her brother to a drug-related heart attack and her father to brain cancer has forever shaped her life. She is dedicated to serving those that are using this healing plant to help people.

Laura is a leader inside and outside of the work environment, by volunteering countless hours for community groups. She was most influential in her role with the American Advertising Federation (AAF). She has won eleven American Advertising Awards (ADDYs) for her work and was honored with the coveted AAF Silver Medal Award. She was also a 20 Under 40 award recipient and a finalist for the Technology Association of Iowa - Women of Innovation and Leadership award. She currently volunteers her time in the local startup community is the Marketing Chair for the Cannabis Travel Association International (CTAI) and is a strategic advisor to multiple cannabis-related companies. 

Steven Duran

I am Steven Duran I have been in the cannabis industry since 2009 first as a caregiver and a grower for a local dispensary which I ended up running a 20,000sf cultivation operation where we did everything from cutting clones to harvesting products. In 2014 I created my own company which is Seven-One-Ninellc. We opened in sept2105 as a medical center and opc . In Sept 2017 we opened our recreational (retail) center. I truly believe in cannabis and I look forward to spreading my knowledge and passion to everyone that I possibly can. 

Chris Mapson
PharmaCann, Vice President of Marketing

Before joining Pharmacann, Chris honed his 29+ years in design and management talents at a wide variety of organizations, ranging from Sony Electronics and Century Link to Aramark and Vicorp Restaurants. Chris is responsible for marketing strategy and execution for Verilife and LivWell Enlightened Health, including strategic direction in traffic driving initiatives, social strategy, and more.

Ru Johnson
Roux Black Consulting, Executive Producer

Ru Johnson is a creative consultant, executive producer and operations strategist who splits her time between Denver and Washington, D.C. Her company, Roux Black Consulting is designed to work with people, places and things that want to expand their consumer demographic. The methods by which the company defines creative output are: campaign development, marketing, press, promotions and strategy. Our specialty and expertise is nightlife, music and cannabis. As a board member at the Minority Cannabis Business Association, Ru Johnson believes the most effect way to market and work within the cannabis space is consistency coupled with exciting components of promotion.
