Samantha Kennelly

Samantha Kennelly is a WYLD Guide and Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach at WYLD Leadership. With a background and experience in Positive (Strengths) Psychology and a passion for people, she has always been fascinated by human behavior. Samantha works with individuals and teams to increase performance, engagement, and well-being through maximizing their CliftonStrengths. Samantha has worked with over 3,000 individuals across industries, helping them to maximize their potential and create a life well-lived. As an original team member and former associate director of the Clifton Strengths Institute at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, she was involved with creating and teaching a first of its kind Strengths-based first-year experience course, which has allowed over 4,500 students to discover their greatest potential for success to build a great life and a great job. She has trained and developed more than 330 Student Strengths Coaches to coach others around maximizing their college experience and future career. Samantha also helped to create the Clifton Builders cohort program, which identifies 30-35 students each year with entrepreneurial and leadership potential who aspire to change the world through building new businesses, teams, and communities.

Shantae J. Edwards

Shantae J. Edwards uses she/her pronouns and is a social entrepreneur, speaker, professor, coach, trainer, and political consultant, who for the past 14 years has holistically focused on diversity, inclusion, and belonging, leadership development, organizational culture, building relationships and life fulfillment. Her dedication toward education, accessing equity, philanthropy, storytelling, advocacy, sustainability, well-being, promoting thriving, social and economic justice from an intergenerational lens guides her lifework toward leaving the world better than she found it.

Shantae J. is a family-oriented, sneaker-loving, Chicago native who has dedicated her life to healing and self-acceptance. Her TEDx Talk, “You. Are. Enough.,” explains exactly how she has been able to spread her message of embracing your own humanity and the humanity of others with positive intentions through self-acceptance, compassion, and empathy. Using her BA in Communications from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and her MBA in Marketing from Walden University. As a people developer and “dream activator” empowering youth, college students, professionals, and social entrepreneurs to discover their “why” and lead an impactful life as a good human. Shantae J. is committed to the growth of all humans.

Shantae J. has worked in both the public and private sectors in and out of the field. She has served as a Moral Leadership Fellow with the How Society, StartingBloc Institute Fellow, a social impact focused leadership institute, in Human Centered Design. She is an alumna of the Global Shapers Community, an initiative of the World Economic Forum, that implements sustainable projects impacting global communities through education, social entrepreneurship, and the arts. She has also served as an inaugural member of the Chicago Scholars Alumni Leadership Association Board. Currently she serves as a Vice President of Building Strong Millennials.

Growing up, Shantae J., learned many of the keys she uses to empower her clients from her mother, Marlene Edwards. These lessons influenced Shantae J. to empower people to improve their lives by taking ownership of their stories and being committed advocates for change.

Through her parent company, IAMDOPE, (I Am Dreaming of Possibilities Everyday) Inc, Shantae J. has created multiple enterprises that serve as platforms for human development and self-actualization. The reality is that every single day, we walk around the city streets carrying our baggage with us. We enter classrooms and boardrooms and place our baggage next to our seats. Personal beliefs around inadequacy not only negatively affect one’s own personal life, but also seeps into one’s professional existence. The result is a home or an organization full of those who are neither fulfilled nor tapping into their full potential. Through her current venture, Good Human Coaching + Development, Shantae J. empowers individuals to push through feelings of inadequacy and achieve more balanced personal beliefs that transform their personal and professional relationships. Simply put, she helps individuals and businesses achieve impactful personal and organizational transformation.

As a WYLD Guide she supports clients to their strengths to be present in their truth and lead from a place of authenticity and integrity. She also works as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at New York University and Kingsborough Community College.

What does it mean to manage and balance our time and energy?

As leaders, entrepreneurs, friends, family members, partners, parents, siblings, mentors-our energy affects those around us. We navigate our every day in motion, transitioning from one call, task, project to the next, barely having a moment to catch our breath.

This fast-paced movement is unsustainable and oftentimes leads to a breaking point. Especially now, many of our patterns of work do not fit in this current environment. In this session, we will explore the science of stress, wellbeing, and nature to improve the quality of our work and life.

Participants will walk away with strategies that support the pause and the transition, helping to shed old habits and create new ones that are connected to their own energy rhythms in order to produce desired outcomes.
