Blair started his career in advertising, writing television commercials, then moved into corporate communications as a media and public relations officer at a major trade association in Toronto.
Blair then joined Toronto Hydro where he served as Vice President, Marketing, Communications & Public Affairs. In 2014 he joined Weber Shandwick as an Associate in the communications agency’s Corporate Practice, and he also joined the adjunct teaching staff at Seneca College’s Corporate Communications and Government Relations post-graduate certificate programs.
In 2017 he joined the senior leadership team at Alectra Inc. as Vice President, Government and Corporate Relations. At Alectra he is responsible for all communications, brand management, community relations and GR activities.
Blair has served on a number of voluntary boards and committees, including Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS), Make-A-Wish Canada’s Corporate Cabinet, The Canadian Centre for Ethics & Corporate Responsibility; Ontario Forestry Association (Forests Ontario) and The Ontario Energy Network. He is a recipient of the CPRS Philip A. Novikoff Memorial Award for furthering the standing of the public relations profession in Canada, the CPRS Mentor of the Year Award, and he is an Accredited Member of the CPRS College of Fellows.
