A keynote panel on the topic of what it means to be an artist in today's industry, with panelists Terri Lyne Carrington (Zildjian Chair and Founder and Artistic Director, Berklee Jazz and Gender Justice Institute), Danilo Pérez (Founder and Artistic Director, Berklee Global Jazz Institute), and Matthew Marsit (Chair Instrumental Studies, Boston Conservatory at Berklee). Moderated by Roya Hu, Senior Director of Faculty Development. Meet with recent Berklee Global Jazz Institute (BGJI) master’s graduates. Required. All students and advisors register for courses. Part 1: Introduction to Diversity and Inclusion at Berklee This session provides an overview of diversity and inclusion at Berklee, core functions and domains of the diversity and inclusion office, and institutional priorities as we enter into a new academic year. Part 2: It's Your Berklee This session provides information about Berklee's Equity and Title IX Policy. An optional yoga session. Please bring your own yoga mat and wear clothing for movement. The Health & Wellness department will host a session on balancing the demands of being a performing artist student, while also nurturing one's personal growth in healthy ways. This reception and concert is open to all graduate students and features student performers from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and the Berklee Global Jazz Institute.
