FAQs

Here is some information to help you get the most out of your experience.

What the heck is emamo?

We are using an online event platform to manage the schedule called emamo. You should have received an email inviting you to that. You don't have to, but if you do, here is what that allows you to do.

Once you sign into emamo you can select any of the sessions you want to attend and add them to your preferred calendar software. Then you will have to easy access to session details on your device.

We are not live-streaming most sessions but the YPA is streaming our collaboration with them for both Alex Cardona's session on Monday evening at Focal Point Coworking and the Asheville Failure Friday panel on Friday morning in Asheville. That stream link is in emamo for each location. This platform only allows us to attach stream links to locations, not sessions. Please note these are the only sessions that are currently live streaming.

Check-in

Sessions are limited capacity first come first serve, so be sure to show up early to get through the check-in process. You will be provided a conference pass on a lanyard that doubles as your name tag. Please wear it to all sessions. If you have a day pass it will get dated with the day you use it. If we run out of space, a ticket does not guarantee you a seat.

Upgrading your day pass

If you have a day pass and want to upgrade to a week pass (more economical than two day passes) we have a discount code for that. Just ask one of our organizers or volunteers.

Locations:

This map shows them all: FBW Locations Map

Food & Parking: We will have snacks and water and sometimes coffee. Please support our local restaurants for your full meals.
Here is a list of parking information along with nearby restaurants, alphabetically by location:

Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce - has ample parking on site

Food recommendations: All Day Darling is the closest and super delicious.

Asheville Yoga Center - We have three parking lots – just look for the “yoga parking” signs directing you to additional lots. We like to think of our studio as a sanctuary! Please silence your phone when you arrive.

Food recommendations: Pulp + Sprout Juice Bar & Vegan Cafe is the closest and super delicious.

Botanical Gardens at UNCA Asheville - We provide free parking at The Botanical Gardens at Asheville.
There is a covered structure up on the Clayton Trail. If it rains we will go there.

Food recommendations: Nothing walkable. Head over to Merrimon Ave for options including Luella's BBQ and Homegrown.

Creative Arts Building at Haywood County Community College - The building is labeled Sycamore and is at the end of Freelander Road on campus. Just take Freelander drive straight back until it ends at a T-Junction at College Street. The Sycamore building is immediately on your right. If you turn right there you will find parking a short way down on your left. Here is a campus map.

Parking lots on campus are designated by signs and spaces are color-coded as follows:

Handicapped spaces are enforced by law enforcement as well as Haywood Community College Security.

For more details see their visiting page here.

Food recommendations: Coffee Cup Cafe

Focal Point Coworking - a combination of free and metered on-street parking. See the map on their contact page. The closest parking garage is the Biltmore Avenue Parking Garage.

Food recommendations: Brahmari Brewing and Sunshine Sammies if you want an awesome ice cream sammich!

Franny's Farm -  Plenty of parking on site. Just take New Leicester Hwy to South Turkey Creek, then turn right on Came Sharpe Rd (you'll see signs for Franny's). Keep left to stay on the gravel road, and park by the field by the barn with LOVE painted on it. It's one lane in and out so drive slow and look out for others.

Food recommendations: Bear BBQ Food Truck will be on site.

HCC Regional High Tech Center - Parking lots on campus are designated by signs and spaces are color-coded as follows:

Handicapped spaces are enforced by law enforcement as well as Haywood Community College Security.
