Brian S. FitzPatrick is IBM’s Navy Business Development Executive. Prior to that, he worked as a Product Manager with the Storage Data Resilience Team and as Product Manager with the Storage FlashSystem Team. Additionally, he was the Program Manager of the Storage for the Storage for Hybrid Multicloud Solutions Offering Team. Most importantly though, he serves as the President of IBM’s Greater Texas Veterans Business Resource Group.
Prior to coming to IBM, Brian was a US Navy Commander with twenty-one years’ experience leading and training large, technically advanced, multidisciplinary teams at sea as a Surface Warfare Officer. He was commissioned in 1996 from the United States Naval Academy with a degree in Marine Engineering. He has served in five warships, mostly cruisers and destroyers, out of the western Pacific. His final tour was as the Deputy Professor of Naval Science at the University of Texas Naval Recruit Officer Training Unit.
Ashore, Brian was a Ballistic Missile Defense Joint Planner in the European Command’s Plans Division. Additionally, Brian served as the 30th Company Officer at the United States Naval Academy from 2001-2003. From 2009-2010, he served as an action officer on the Chief of Naval Operations’ Executive Panel at the Pentagon.
Brian’s education includes a Master’s in Science in Technology Commercialization from the Red McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas in Austin. A Master’s degree in Leadership, Education and Development from the Naval Post Graduate School. He also earned a Master’s degree in Military Operational and Science from the Air Command and Staff College in Montgomery, Alabama.
His personal awards include a three Meritorious Service Medals, a Joint Commendation Medal, four Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, and three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals. However, he is most proud of the two Battle Efficiency Awards he earned while serving in JOHN S. MCCAIN and in LAKE CHAMPLAIN. He is married to the former Miss Jessica Goulet and is father to Aisling Elizabeth and Delaney Aurelia.
Brian will be the MC to the Navy track of programming.
