Mr. Jung was selected as the Chief Technology Officer for Program Executive Officer Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) in December 2019. He is responsible for directing the engagement of Science and Technology (S&T) efforts across the entire PEO IWS. These S&T activities include Office of Naval Research (ONR) Innovative Naval Prototypes (INPs), Rapid Innovation Fund (RIF) and Automated Test and Analysis (ATA) as well as the PEO's Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. Additionally, he leads the PEO's technology outreach with the Naval Research and Development Establishment, DARPA, UARCs, FFRDCs, NRL, NSWCs, industrial base and joint partners to shape technology investment to address the PEO's and warfighter's technology needs.
Mr. Jung was previously the System Engineering and Integration Principal Assistant Program Manager and Technical Director for PEO IWS 2.0 Above Water Sensors Directorate. In this role he provides the technical and engineering oversight of Radar, Electronic Warfare and Directed Energy systems for PEO IWS. This included the ACAT I program Advanced Missile Defense Radar (AMDR) ACAT II programs such as SEWIP and Nulka and several ACAT III and non ACAT programs.
Since 1998 Mr. Jung has been a vital part of Electronic Warfare and decoy programs for the surface Navy. He has served as the Technical Director, lead/system engineer for many programs, lead significant competitive contracting efforts, responsible for the generation of technical requirements/specifications. He was part of the original team that shaped Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program and has been a significant contributor to the modernization of Electronic Warfare for the Surface Navy.
Mr. Jung began his career at NSWC Crane Division supporting the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) and early on in his career spent 2 years at COMNAVSURFLANT directly supporting the N6 directorate.
Mr. Jung holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and a Master's Degree in System Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School. He has been recognized as the Naval Sea Systems Command Engineer of the Year. He is a member of the Acquisition Professional Community and is a DAWIA Level 3 in Program Management, SPRDE, and Test & Evaluation.
