Art Trevethan
AAL, Champion of Industry Opportunities

Art Trevethan is helping the Army become a better business partner for small- and mid-sized companies. An entrepreneur through and through, Art spent more than 30 years founding, funding, and leading companies ranging across AITech, SocialTech, MedTech, DevTech, and foundational technologies. He also built a pretty hearty network and has shared his experiences back into the community as an advisor to several companies in the DevTech and SocialTech spaces. Now, Art brings his technical savvy and entrepreneurship chops to his role as Champion of Industry Opportunities for the Army Applications Laboratory (AAL). He and his team help AAL stay smart on market and technology trends and find opportunities to integrate into the vibrant ecosystem of solvers who may have never worked with the DoD before. With a deep grasp of industry as well as relationships, Art’s experience helps the Army understand the broader community and what it needs (as well as what it wants to avoid).

Brance Hudzietz
AAL, Entrepreneur in Residence

Brance Hudzietz is a tech geek and a connector. While previous roles had Brance in labs building UAVs, simulating black-hole phenomena, and using particle accelerators, he's spent the last six years building corporate innovation programs and supporting communities of deep-tech entrepreneurs. He currently serves as an Entrepreneur in Residence with the Army Applications Laboratory (AAL) where he helps companies that don’t typically work with the DoD find opportunities to solve some of the Army's toughest modernization challenges. Sometimes that means sourcing commercial technologies. Mostly, it means bringing a human face — and human touch — to Army innovation. Brance’s active areas of interest include artificial intelligence (AI), autonomous robotics, cybersecurity, and the intersection of technology and art.

Christopher Orlowski

His past assignments include Tank Platoon Leader, Operation Iraqi Freedom; Commander, Beckley Recruiting Company; Officer-in-Charge, Joint Robotics Repair Detachment – Afghanistan, OEF; Assistant Product Manager, Robotic Systems Joint Project Office; and Program Manager, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. LTC Orlowski holds a BS from the United States Military Academy in Mechanical Engineering, a MS from the University of Southern California in Astronautical Engineering, and a PhD from the University of Michigan in Aerospace Engineering.

Chad Nash
PM PNT, Deputy & Technical Director

Mr. Chad Nash is the Deputy Product Manager (PdM) and Technical Director for the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Modernization Product Office under Project Manager (PM) PNT. He joined PM PNT located at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland in August 2018.

Mr. Nash is a critical member of the PNT Modernization team, responsible for the development of the engineering roadmap that identifies cutting edge PNT technologies to mature and field. He is leading the team to accelerate the identification, maturation and transition of technologies from industry, academia and government to provide a continuously reliable PNT solution to the Soldier. As a part of this effort, Mr. Nash is at the forefront of designing the initial PNT Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) compliant prototype. The effort has extremely aggressive integration, testing and demonstration timelines that will influence PNT decisions across the Army.

Mr. Nash’s contributions to PM PNT and PEO IEW&S are in indication of his passion and “team first” attitude. He directly supports coordination with the S&T community, Army Futures Command (AFC) and the Assured PNT Cross Functional Team (CFT). His efforts ensure PNT Modernization maintain an agile approach that can deliver the Soldier cutting-edge technology in an accelerated timeframe.

We're bringing a special flavor to this month's AAL Ask Me Anything, in honor of Fed Supernova!

The AAL Corporate Ventures team has invited a group of Army Program Managers (PMs) to join us and answer your questions in real-time. Maybe you want to know how they buy. Maybe you're trying to figure out how to get noticed. Maybe you need to untangle the confusing web of acquisition bureaucracy. Whatever it is, join us for this special AMA to hear it straight from the people who know best.

And, if you want to learn more about AAL and how we do what we do, we'll be ready and waiting to take on those questions as well. No holds barred. No silly questions. No nonsense. That's why we're here.
