Vanessa Kimbell runs The Sourdough School in Northamptonshire. She is a sourdough baker who specialises in the relationship between fermentation, the gut microbiome and health.
She began baking sourdough as a young girl working in the village bakery in South West France age 11 and is known for her specialist knowledge and understanding of the nutrition and digestibility of bread. Day to day Vanessa teaches a range of courses at the award-winning Sourdough School specialising in bread for health. Covering topics that include bread and mental health, blood sugar balance IBS & baking for individuals with wheat intolerance.
The Digestion & Nutrition of Dread Diplomas that Vanessa teaches to health care professionals are accredited by the Royal College of General Practitioners, and her courses were named in the top Three courses in the UK by the Times, Top 10 in the UK by the Telegraph and The Evening Standard.
Vanessa is also a regular contributor to BBC Radio 4’s Food Programme and is acknowledged around the world as being "The Queen of Sourdough" - The Telegraph.
