For the past 40 years, there has been a seismic shift in the gaming industry roughly every decade. We saw how console games moved the PC, and then to the web. Then we saw how mobile took over and upended the entire gaming industry with the F2P model and microtransactions. Today, gaming revenue is tracking at nearly $180 billion for 2021, the lion’s share of it from mobile.
