Entrepreneur-led Economic Development

Entrepreneurs create over 60% of the net new jobs in the KC regional economy year-in and year-out. Programs that support entrepreneurial growth are providing a 4:1 ROI in the form of economic activity taxes (EATs) to local and state governments. Meanwhile, the economic development incentives paradigm in the KC region continues to favor business attraction incentives that have been proven to negatively affect the tax base of both Kansas and Missouri state and local governments. Join us for a discussion of how the Entrepreneur Support Strategy Group, an entrepreneur-led initiative, is changing the conversation with policy makers and economic development agencies towards supporting locally-owned small businesses and locally-grown entrepreneurs.
