Jack Thompson
StartHuddle, Co-founder

Jack Thompson is a 17 year-old senior in high school at Toledo School for the Arts. He came up with the idea for StartHuddle as a result of going through the entrepreneurial process many times, but having difficulty due to his status as a high schooler.

Since 2015, he and his family have led CoderDojo Toledo, a branch of the global student-led computer science education program. It was there where he formed an award-winning hackathon team that took home prizes from several collegiate competitions. In his free time, Jack enjoys playing jazz saxophone, translating Japanese manga into English, and writing web applications. He hopes that StartHuddle will eventually be able to reach every aspiring entrepreneur in Ohio to give them what they need to get started.

Jake Zajkowski
StartHuddle, Outreach Director

Jake Zajkowski is a senior at Anthony Wayne High School in Whitehouse, Ohio. He is currently the Director of Outreach for StartHuddle and will be leading many local initiatives. Jake has a specialized education in agricultural biotechnology, research, and youth leadership. He is currently serving Ohio's agricultural youth as the 2020-2021 State Vice-President for the Ohio FFA Association. Some other boards and committee appointments include Ohio Attorney General Teen Ambassador Board, Waterville Historical Society Student Advisory Committee, and the League of Women Voters. Jake is a proud small business owner of Jake Zajkowski Photography and manages a vertical tomato farm called Whitehouse Specialty Crops. In Fall of 2021, he hopes to attend The Ohio State University majoring in Plant BioSciences, minoring in production agriculture.

Katie Pettee
Enjoy Zest, Chef + Event Planner
As a designer and culinary aficionado, Katie Pettee created Enjoy Zest to craft meal experiences to bring people together. Her love language is shared through storytelling moments that make way for lifelong memories. As a self-taught chef, she gathers her inspiration and creative edge from a culmination of her journeys, thus far.

Katie has lived in the midwest and west coast, traveled throughout California, volunteered for small scale farms, guided patrons through wine tastings, and worked as a landscape designer before finally landing in Northwest Ohio.

In celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week, StartHuddle will be hosting an Entrepreneurship Panel. We'll hear from small business owners, leaders from the industry, and those who are passionate about the development of businesses in our community. Questions will pertain to important topics for youth to get started in entrepreneurship. Listen in to hear some great advice and wisdom.
