Having studied Music Business at university, Jody has since gone on to work on exciting projects within sync licensing for well-respected record labels and publishers. Currently, at Ninja Tune as Creative Sync Licensing Manager, Jody handles licensing for TV and games.

Zoe Schneider
Harmonix Music Systems/Jazz Urbane Recordings, Community Manager/Key Operations Strategist

Zoe aims to use her art and work as a way to bring people together, with the goal of fostering mutual love and respect capable of awakening the sense of shared humanity. She is a proponent of approaching all people and situations with an inquisitive mind and open heart. Zoe believes that it is the power of vulnerability, incessant curiosity, and the relentless pursuit of authenticity and truth, that provides the foundation for an extraordinary life.

Amanda Davis
AD Productions, LLC, FOH Engineer and Production Manager

Amanda Davis is the Front of House engineer for Janelle Monae and Tegan and Sara. A native of Memphis,TN, Amanda earned a B.A. in music with a focus on Vocal Performance from Roosevelt University in Chicago in 2008. In 2010, Amanda decided to refocus her career aspirations on music recording and production, so she enrolled in the Audio Technology Program at SAE Atlanta. Upon graduating, SAE was was so impressed by Davis’ skills that they hired her as a lab instructor and their first female instructor, specializing in Music Theory. After two years at SAE, interning at studios, working local clubs and churches to break into live sound, Amanda went on to work as an Audio Technician for Carnival Cruise Lines. In the Fall of 2013, Amanda was recruited by Wondaland Arts Society to be Janelle Monae’s official Front of House Engineer for her national and international concert appearances. While working with Ms. Monae, Amanda has mixed legendary artists such as Prince and Stevie Wonder. Davis has also mixed in some of the world’s most renowned venues such as Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, Hollywood Bowl and even the White House. In the spring of 2016 Amanda was recruited to join the crew of Canadian indie/pop duo group Tegan and Sara as their FOH engineer. To date, Davis has been a part of national and international television broadcasts such as David Letterman, Good Morning America, The Today Show, Saturday Night Live, Much Music Video Awards, BET Awards, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, American Idol and many more.

For this session,  INO Creative Director, Gaby Rodriguez has set out to learn how a group of women of color in different sectors of the industry navigate barriers in a space still largely driven by men. Through their individual stories, our panelists help shed light on the spectrum of experiences that women of color face in the music industry. Tune in to hear more about how we can help empower women of color in the space and learn more about INO CON’s efforts in actively supporting anti-racism.
