Visualizing Bass Music with Zebbler Encanti Experience

Zebbler Peter Berdovsky is an internationally touring live visual artist, and the founder of Zebbler Studios, who is known for his video mapping work and concert projections. Zebbler first gained worldwide fame for the 2007 Boston Mooninite panic and subsequent news conference. His first "Shpongletron" design earned him recognition as one of the first VJs to incorporate 3-D video mapping into his set designs. For the past decade, Zebbler has also been busy performing with his audio-visual bass music act ZEE (Zebbler Encanti Experience).

In addition to his visual works, Zebbler is also an accomplished educator. He is currently working as an assistant professor at Berklee College of Music in Boston, as well as leading a variety of worldwide video performance and mapping workshops. 

Ben "Encanti" Cantil is one half of Zebbler Encanti Experience (ZEE), an audio-visual project featuring his music with projection-mapped visualizations by VJ Zebbler. ZEE releases music regularly on Gravitas Recordings and Wakaan Records; releasing dance tracks to be supported by Bassnectar, Space Jesus, and Liquid Stranger. Ben Cantil is currently on sabbatical, taking a year away from his position of Assistant Professor of Music Production, Technology, and Innovation at Berklee Valencia in Valencia, Spain, where he teaches electronic music production and sound design. As an educator, Ben approaches electronic music creation as a multidisciplinary art form that unifies traditional songwriting with sound design, arranging, and audio engineering.

Each scrupulously composed project further divulges the unmatched precision at which the duo crafts massive enveloping visual and acoustic soundscapes and the newly anointed Wakaan EP, End Trance falls nowhere short of expectation. Appropriately titled, ‘Outside the Box’ delivers the eccentric perimeter of the EP, exploiting the vacant spaces of the seductive rhythmic marimba beat with sudden lunges of grotty bass, quivers of unremitting subs, and vacillating peaks of convoluted synths. -FUX WITHIT
