LimmudFest Havdalah
In a normal year, LimmudFest includes a full weekend of services for all denominations in addition to the days of learning. We decided not to offer LimmudFest-specific services this year, but this Havdalah session will be a perfect taste of spirituality in our shortened event. Featuring Rabbis, Cantors, and other Jewish leaders from across the Gulf South, we will come together (virtually) to sing, pray, learn, and kick-off LimmudFest 2021!

Making Waves: NOLA's New Mikveh & You
New Orleans is building a community mikveh! But what is a mikveh for anyway? Join Rabbis Josh Pernick and Lexi Erdheim along with Jessica Rosenberg of the Rising Tide Open Waters Mikveh Network to learn about the history and development of the mikveh from the Torah through today. We will explore contemporary re-imaginings of the mikveh and consider how you might use our community mikveh. Rabbi Bob Loewy will share updates about the progress of the mikveh and answer questions.
Spirit and Justice: Jewish Spiritual tools to deepen our commitments to Justice
Join us for an exploration of the role of Jewish spirituality in our work for justice. Dani will share tools and learning from her participation in the Inside Out Wisdom and Action Project Ovdim Fellowship. (https://www.insideoutwisdomandaction.org/meet-the-leadership-cohort). Participants will have an opportunity to try out some spiritual practices and apply them to their own justice work. We'll look at text, we'll look at Musar, and we'll look at how we can use these tools in the service of committing ourselves to ongoing Justice work.
The Jazz Amidah
We say the Amidah every day - but did you know that once upon a time it was jazz? Back in the day, it was up to the leader to improvise the prayer around a set of themes. Join Rabbi Deborah Silver and jazz musician and teacher Meryl Zimmerman to produce a Shabbat Jazz Amidah of our own!
Art @ Home: Beautifying Pesach
Come root into your artistic expression and Jewish practice. We will be using tea art, talking herbs, sharing prayers, and creating pieces to support our Jewish Prayer ritual practice. All ages, all levels are invited to create a meaningful space together.
