Read is an entrepreneur and ecosystem builder, who believes that more equitable access to capital and more robust entrepreneurship is a path to a stronger economy and stronger communities.
He is the co-founder of Moving Nashville Forward, an effort to bring a guaranteed basic income to Nashville starting in North Nashville, and he serves as Wefunder's Nashville City Partner.
Jonathan is a serial founder (turned funder) working to increase access to growth resources for post-startup companies... especially the underestimated. He has founded or co-founded 8 companies, 2 non-profits, and invested in over 30 companies (angel + VC).
Working with other founders inspired him to build Capacity, a strategic advisory firm focused on creating momentum for small businesses-- and Capacity Capital, a revenue-based investment fund with a portfolio consisting of more than 80% women-, minority- or veteran-led founders.
Wefunder and Capacity Capital are partnering to host a conversation about new avenues to access and raise capital for businesses of all types.
The most important driver of economic growth in Chattanooga is home-grown entrepreneurship. Regulation crowdfunding and other alternative capital tools can help make sure that our community can invest in the founders they care about supporting most.
