Fireside chat: Building a Brand – Brand Inception to Scaled Operation

As the COO of Shady Rays, Dan Ratterman supports several functions of the company including Supply Chain, Inventory, Transportation, Fulfillment, Product Quality, Supplier Relationships, Product Development, and Human Resources.    Dan was recently named as one of the Institute of Supply Management’s 30 Under 30 Rising Supply Chain Stars.  Prior to Shady Rays, Dan completed the Supply Chain Development Program at GE Appliances where he held roles within operations management, procurement, process improvement engineering, and others.  His education includes a degree in Industrial Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Dayton.  He also holds two Certificates from Harvard University in Global Business and Strategy Execution and a Master Certificate from Michigan State University in Supply Chain Management and Procurement.

Shady Rays, Founder & CEO

Chris Ratterman is the founder and CEO of Shady Rays.  After starting the company out of his spare bedroom in 2012, he has built the company into one of the largest mid-priced eyewear companies in the nation.  In 2020, Chris was named as an EY Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist.  Prior to Shady Rays, Chris held key roles within brand management with Heaven Hill Brands.  His education includes a Bachelor Degree in Marketing and Finance from Xavier University and an MBA from Indiana University Southeast.
