Do Well by Doing Good: Making a Positive Impact in EdTech

Ryan Hagedorn
Edmentum, Chief Operating Officer

Ryan has been with Edmentum since 2010 and has spent his entire career in education. He began in the organization heading the marketing team, then went on to lead multiple segments of the sales and marketing organization. He was most recently appointed to lead Edmentum's sales, services, and marketing organizations as Chief Operating Officer. In his current role, he focuses on creating an end-to-end customer lifecycle centered on a partnership. Ryan has a proven track record of producing growth, and his career milestones include launching our virtual academy and introducing the Edmentum brand. Ryan has a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Hofstra University.

Mondo Davison
Schoolz, Co-founder and The Problem Solver

Mondo Davison, mostly notably known as “The Black Tech Guy,” is on a mission to inspire a generation of black males to consider a life in technology (entrepreneurship) as their 'Plan A'. He will continue to brand 'The Black Tech Guy' as a trailblazer in the space until that goal is fulfilled.  

Andy Frost
Renaissance Learning, VP, Assessment Products

Andy has been working in educational technology for the last 15 years “officially” and for 20+ informally. His last four roles have been in Product, Sales, and Marketing at Plato Learning / Edmentum, ACT Aspire, Scantron, and now Renaissance where he is VP of Assessment Products. He’s also worked and consulted with roughly a half dozen ed tech start-ups in various capacities, including EdZapp and Code to the Future. He has three kids, the oldest in college, the youngest in 8th grade. He has an MBA from Carnegie Mellon and a BS in Computer Science from BYU.

Dan Pickens
Farmington High School, Principal

Dan Pickens is the current Principal at Farmington High School. Farmington High School is a public school of about 2200 students. In 2020, Dan was nominated and selected as the Capital Division Principal of the Year in Minnesota.  Previous to being the principal, Dan held many different positions in Farmington Area Public Schools including High School Assistant Principal, Head of Instructional Technology, Digital Learning Specialist, District Math Specialist, and High School Math Teacher. The Farmington Credit Recovery Summer School successfully recovered over 500 credits using Edmentum the summer of 2021.

Mark Jansen
Knights Academy & STMA Online School, Principal

Mark Jansen discovered alternative education when hired as a social studies teacher in South Minneapolis after graduating from The University of St. Thomas. He has now been in alternative educator for 18 years and is currently the principal of two schools, Knights Academy ALP and STMA Online in the St. Michael Albertville School District. Mark lives in New Brighton, MN, with his wife and 2 daughters.
