Susan Hammel

Susan Hammel is serving her sixth year as Executive in Residence with the Minnesota Council on Foundations In this role and collaborating with MCF staff, Susan designed and launched the Minnesota Impact Investing Collaborative fund, which has over $100 million in assets. She also leads the MCF Integrated Capital Recovery Program, aiming to raise $95 million in direct response to the COVID-19 crisis and racial unrest in the summer of 2020. 

Susan and the Cogent team advise philanthropic investors around the country as well as innovative social entrepreneurs on innovative ways to do good well. They are leading the charge to address the gaps and promote solutions after mapping the Twin Cities impact investing ecosystem.

Justin Grammens
Lab651, Founder/ CEO

Justin leads Lab651's team of mobile & web application and data science engineers. He lives at the intersection of emerging technology and leading communities on the Internet of Things and has been building mobile applications and cloud-based software solutions for more than 20 years with clients ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies. Justin is also both the creator and host of the AppliedAI Podcast and an adjunct professor teaching a graduate-level course on the Internet of Things at the University of Saint Thomas.

Marc Majors
Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, Director of Employment and Training Programs (ETP) Division

Marc Majors joined DEED in 2018 as deputy director of its ETP division; he was named ETP’s director in December 2019. During his time at DEED, the ETP division has made major advancements to its grantmaking and performance management systems.

Before joining DEED, Majors served for more than a decade as the workforce development manager for the city of San Francisco, where he oversaw Workforce Investment Act and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act efforts.
