To fund or not to fund…the founder’s dilemma from an investor perspective
I have been an entrepreneur for 20+ years, mainly in coffee and artisan bakery in Minnesota. As an operating entrepreneur, I chose both to self-fund and partner with investors in businesses I founded. As an investing entrepreneur in Gather Venture Group, I work with our team to identify and invest in food and beverage founders who are ready for investment, from our point of view. Gather began in 2019 and we have 6 companies in our Fund I Portfolio. I am a 5th generation Californian who traded for Minnesota, where my wife and I have raised 4 children. No investment we make will top the one Minnesota and I made in one another 28 years ago.
